Dr. Sarah Berg

Dr. SarahDr. Sarah Berg grew up in Bedford, Texas with her three sisters and one brother. She graduated from L.D. Bell High School with Honors. She was also a member of The Raiderette Drill Team and the Acappella choir.

She majored in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Berg attended Optometry School at the University of Houston graduating with honors. She completed her externships at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Spokane, Washington and Plaza Vision Center in Dallas, Texas. Her training at the VA Hospital emphasized ocular disease including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts. She studied under Dr. Clark Newman at Plaza Vision Center with an emphasis on corneal diseases including keratoconus. Here she had extensive training on contact lens fittings for diseased corneas and other hard-to-fit eyes.

Dr. Berg enjoys traveling, camping, singing, playing with her dog, Scout, church, and many other outdoor activities.


Dr. Kyle L. Florio

Dr. KyleDr. Kyle Lee Florio grew up with his parents and younger brother in the piney woods of northeast Texas. He graduated from Longview High School where he earned the Texas Advanced School Diploma with Honors. He was a member of the Longview Lobos baseball team.

He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for two years on a full NCAA Division I baseball athletic scholarship. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and a master of science degree in biological sciences from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Kyle earned a doctorate of optometry degree in 2004 from The University of Houston.

While enrolled in optometry school, Kyle completed rotations at the Texan Eye Care, University of Houston College of Optometry, and at the Children’s Development Clinic, Delay Center, Houston, Texas. Dr. Florio completed an externship in primary care, contact lens, LASIK pre-op and post-op care at Texan Eye Care. He also completed an externship in ocular disease diagnosis and treatment at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the hospital Dr. Florio completed dilated ocular examinations of adult patients of all ages; provided pre and post-operative cataract surgery care; and diagnosed and treated an extensive number of cases of glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. He holds a therapeutic license and is an optometric glaucoma specialist. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association-Central Texas chapter, and the Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity.

Dr Florio is a religious man who thanks God for all He has done to make him the man he is today. He approaches all of his patients, personal, business, and professional relationships with honesty and integrity. He enjoys golf, fishing, hunting, and camping. He holds deep respect for the environment. Dr. Florio is an Eagle Scout.


Jason Ireland, Optician & Lab Manager

JasonJason is our Optician and Lab Manager. He received his training with the United States Air Force. He has been in the eye care industry since 1997. He is skilled in helping patients with frame selection, adjustments, and frame repairs. Jason is involved in every step of your glasses order and enjoys helping throughout this process whether it is your first pair of glasses or you have worn glasses for years.

He enjoys watching hockey and football and is from Pittsburgh, PA.
